Know the signs: The presence of clover tells you it needs…Nitrogen. Instead of arbitrarily spreading chemicals, know what you lawn is telling you.
Common misconception: Lawn care starts in spring. Not so, the right fall fertilizers are an important component to achieving a healthy lawn year around. But all should always start with a closer look at what your lawn is telling. Look at the weeds present. Is the grass yellow? Is there no grass?
Yellow grass generally means fungus due to too much water. Lack of grass usually indicates overly compacted soil conditions – aerate the lawn then top it off with new topsoil and reseed.
Be sure to give your lawn what it needs to get through the winter healthy!
