Tiny House

As the tiny house trend continues to gain interest, we couldn’t help but bring you this space-age look in the form of a tiny house “pod”.

If small is really something that interests you, or maybe you just need the ultimate fort in the back yard for the kids, this could be your option. These off-grid pods come with solar and wind power and even collect rainwater and filter it for use. The egg-like shape is designed to minimize heat loss.

The pod features a 9,744 watt-hour battery which stores the power generated from the solar panels and wind turbine.

At about 120 square feet, you will find a bed, a working and dining space, toilet, shower and a kitchenette. The pod has two windows that can be opened and can be moved on its four extendable wheels.

“With its immense off-grid life span, worldwide portability and flexibility, it is suitable for a wide range of applications: from an independent research station or a tourist lodge to an emergency housing or a humanitarian-action unit,” according to the company.

The pods are limited-edition and run about $87,777 each. The company, Ecocapsule out of the Slovak Republic, is planning a second generation pod to be available in 2017.
