A great new paint finish was just introduced and you can literally feel the difference. That’s right, you don’t just see this paint, but can actually feel the texture of it. This new evolution in paint technology comes by way of Century from Benjamin Moore.
The line comes in 75 new colors that include mid tone colors through to darker shades. Benjamin Moore describes the finish as a “Soft Touch Matte finish offering a tactile experience”.
A gallon of Century costs $125, clearly targeting high-end designers and projects. While the price may seem high a first, it lines up with other high-end lines such as Farrow and Ball, for example. Given the textural feel of Century you may opt to use it instead of wallpaper and save this additional expense.
If you are working with a smaller budget, consider this paint as a choice for a unique focal point wall surface. It can even be a good choice for a small hall or powder room space that you want to give a little extra pop.
Although this paint is not completely zero-VOC (volatile organic compounds) it is classified as a low-VOC paint and thus better than many options on the market. But do be careful to vent rooms properly while painting and for a period of time after application to get any unwanted fumes out of the home.
Our favorite from the line is the Cobalt shown above, however there are several and here are a few additional ones we were particularly drawn to. Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
